Standard Horizon STD-PS1000B Phantom VHF Marine Transceiver with Microphone
Features:
Buy it now at Amazon!Description:The PS1000B Phantom is a hideaway black box VHF transceiver specifically designed for vessels with limited mounting space. Equipped with a single RAM+ microphone that controls all the radio functions--including turning the radio on and sending Digital Selective Calling (DSC) signals--from another location, the Phantom transceiver can be installed virtually anywhere, including under the boat dash or in the cabin. The location you choose doesn't particularly matter, as all the controls are situated on the microphone and not in the transceiver itself. The microphone, meanwhile, is at home in the nav station, cockpit, tower, lower helm station, and anywhere else you might sit or stand while contacting other boaters or making a distress call. The RAM+ mic is intuitive and simple to use, with such buttons as a squelch control, a volume key, a power switch, a push-to-talk switch, a high/low key, up/down channel keys, and an emergency channel 16/9 button, along with a crisp, easy-to-read LCD display. The Phantom also meets the internationally recognized requirements for Digital Selective Calling (DSC), which allows you to send a distress signal at the touch of a button or exchange position information with other boats or stations. DSC activates a continuous, unattended "mayday" signal that identifies your vessel, reports your latitude and longitude, and gives the time. Furthering the Phantom's safety reputation is its GPS compatibility. When connected to a GPS position receiver, the Phantom can send your GPS position to other boats in an emergency, or it can poll the GPS location of another vessel and display it on the RAM+ screen. Interface the transceiver with a Standard Horizon GPS chart plotter and it will display the other vessel's location on the chart page, making the it even easier to track down the distressed boat. The Phantom comes programmed with all U.S., Canadian, and international marine channels, keeping you fully informed of all the latest oceanic activity. At the same time, the radio picks up 10 weather channels from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Association (NOAA), so you can learn about approaching storms or hurricanes well before they hit. And because it's nearly impossible to monitor the NOAA channels at all times, the radio includes an audible weather alert tone and visual alarm. The variety of channels and functions make this an essential tool for communicating with other boaters, marinas, the Coast Guard, and commercial towing companies, all of whom can offer live-saving assistance during a crisis. Other details include a die-cast chassis for durability, a 5-watt audio output, user-changeable channel names, ClearVoice noise-canceling technology that eliminates unwanted background noises such as engines and wind, and a host of scanning modes, including Dual Watch (monitors one user-selected channel at the same time as emergency channel 16) and Priority Scan (scans any combination of channels along with a priority channel). The Phantom PS1000B measures 6.31 by 2.5 by 6.31 inches (W x H x D) and is backed by a three-year warranty. What's in the Box Get more product details from AmazonRelated Products
